Its always exciting to receive emails from designers wanting to showcase their work and receiving one from industrial designer Luís Porém was no exception. The work pictured above shows a pair of glasses created as a Project for the contest Opus Design Awards. The glasses have been made from plastic and have a hollow internal channel which the wearer can fill with ink of their chosen colour, allowing them to match and mix when ever they want.

Objectified

Objectified is a feature-length independent documentary about industrial design. It’s a look at the creativity at work behind everything from toothbrushes to tech gadgets. It’s about the people who re-examine, re-evaluate and re-invent our manufactured environment on a daily basis. It’s about personal expression, identity, consumerism, and sustainability. It’s about our relationship to mass-produced objects and, by extension, the people who design them.

Sheep Poo Paper

I visited The Eden Project recently and found it altogether very interesting. Whilst there I found this neat little product made entirely from Sheep Poo. SheepPooPaper is made in Wales using traditional paper making techniques and sterilized sheep poo.

Oscar Diaz is a product designer based in London where he works with ideas applied to objects, furniture and spaces, both on commissioned and self-initiated projects.
Much of Oscar's work is concerned with tweaking everyday objects or situations. Mixing influences from craft and technologie, his approach is often multifaceted, investigative and playful, transforming the ordinary by challenging conventions.

Muji and Naoto Fukasawa's CD player

I happened to hear about muji products twice today. I have only been in muji once and I didnt see the fuss at the time, but if I could only have one thing in my room at the moment it would be this cd player. Along with bob dylans "blood on the tracks".
