Josh Greet

Drew Turner has just finished this lovely new website for plymouth based photography student Josh Greet. Josh has some really nice atmospheric film shots, which are definitely worth a look. I can see him blowing up a little in the future and cannot help but compare his work to Anna Wolf the fashion and lifestyle photographer who has taken amazing photographs for clients such as Urban Outfitters, MTV and more recently, Target.

Alberto Hernandez

Alberto Hernandez completed his MA at London College of Communication last year, i spotted this awsome Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde Letterpress on his web site, the subject matter of this project was to make a poster using letterpresss printing methods about the number two. The idea is based on lenticular images which consist of two perspectives split into interspersed stripes. The story of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde suites the brief perfectly.

Mind Design

A really solid portfolio of work can be found at the website of East Londons 'Mind Design', a nice little touch added to their logo makes it fun and interesting. The above image shows a new packaging concept for the organic food producer "What on Earth". Check the website for more info by clicking the picture.

Telegramme studio

London based Telegramme Studio is an interactive, illustration and editorial design studio, they also offer a short-run and bespoke screenprinting service. I was directed to this site by Tina at Inspiring, pretty, beautiful things, the screenprints are something to drool over if your a fan of the squeegee silk screen process. Be sure to take a look.

The Zonders

The Zonders is an international artistcollective founded by Dieter Dunkel & Wolfgang 3000. Influenced by different styles of music it is their style to bond surrealism and society in a sort of cool but kitsch 80's theme. Or if you like you could call them retro futurists but i have never really liked that term.

The work they create is dominantly logos and vinyl art for electro bands which follow the same retro futuristic ethos. This works really well and boost their creativity as the music and image connect, to the piece whole.

They work closely with the french music blog The Valerie Collective who have been turning me onto fabulous mixes and opening new doors to music which i would otherwise shy away from.

Tom Hingston Studio

Based in London, Tom Hingston Studio is an independent multi–disciplinary design agency. Amongst clients such as BBC, Nike, Massive Attack I found these vector style graphics created for Absolut, aimed at making cocktail creating that little bit simpler. As you can see from the image above the user can easily see the equation of mixers needed to create a particular drink.

Because Studio

A clever and querky take on the infamous "Glass empty, Glass full"; these posters show an A2 sheet printed with ink that covers 50% of the paper making each poster either half full or half empty depending on your inclination.

Because Studio is the freelance design practice of Loz Ives, a young designer from the UK.

Matt Robinson & Tom Wrigglesworth

A pretty spectacular film/animation from Matt Robinson & Tom Wrigglesworth in which they turn a number of HP printers into a kind of choreographic orchestra. Be sure to check out the rest of their work on their portfolio websites. The pair are also featured in Septembers issue of Creative Review.

I am alway hungry

I have just discovered thanks to the guys fromFormFiftyFive this amazing portfolio site from Nessim Higson. The site has got to be one of the most smoothest and fast running sites of its kind that I've ever seen. Its functionality is amazing and pleases me in so many ways. I find it so refreshing to see site like this, sites that are different from the norm, and something a little more exciting than an indexhibit or Blogger. Note I do have a indexhibit site and I use blogger.

Nessim describes his site “The site shell is a reaction to standardization. It’s meant to challenge the concept of space and how it’s perceived within ye olde browser window. It will undoubtably frustrate some, but may contribute to a large laugh and / or smile for others. It’s more experiment and temporary in nature than stiff and permanent.”

Graphic Europe (Studio April)

An eclectic mix of Illustration, photography and graphic wizardry best describes a new publication from Cicada Books, designed by Studio April. Titled 'Graphic Europe', it is written and illustrated by thirty-one graphic designers from cities across Europe.

"It provides an insider’s insight into the alternative arts-scene that goes on underneath the surface of Europe’s metropolises, and it is also a personal documentation of the ways in which we experience these spaces."

baskerville studio & the graduating work of james

Its pretty cool to see something that looks good and functions well at the same time, These rulers from James at Baskerville studio are created with arthritic people in mind. Made from thin bamboo they bend in the middle making it easier for you to pick up but not compromising its performance.

Hofstede Design

Hofstede Design specialises in identity, publication and environmental graphic design. They have an awsome portfolio of work which needs to be seen by anyone who is interested in graphic design. I think this portfolio has just scyked me up to go crazy on my next portfolio. Everything is to the highest standard.

Anna Lincoln

LAST ORDERS presents a selection of screen prints inspired by Deptford’s historic pubs and deciphers the clues embedded in the buildings that reveal their fascinating history. In doing so the exhibition also draws our attention to the future of Deptford ‘s commercial landscape.

Pablo Lobo

Pablo Lobo is another designer blurring the edges between Graphic Design and Illustration. The piece above in particular, caught my eye. Pablo is an Art Director / Graphic Designer / Illustrator from Brazil.

Progress / Bath School of Art & Design

Burn Everything

Liverpool based Burn Everything have some innovative and interesting design solutions. The project pictured above shows an interactive art installation called 'Conversation'. The exhibition was driven by public response.
